What is Complete Positivity? No, really… what’s this thing about?

Room: 204
Speaker: Matteo Caiaffa
The talk concerns with an introduction to the theory of dynamical maps in Banach spaces, which are the main instruments around which my master thesis will be written. The utmost aim of the latter being to characterize the class of nonlinear modifications of the Schroedinger equation compatible with general physical requirements. Complete positivity of dynamical maps is the main issue and we ask ourselves if such a request can be derived from some weaker conditions.
