Measuring decoherence due to vacuum fluctuations

Room: 204
Speaker: Anirudh Gundhi
In this talk I will discuss how the existence of vacuum fluctuations, which are typically understood to be the underlying cause behind the Casimir effect, can be probed by measuring the decoherence they cause on polarizable particles in matter-wave interferometry.
