Black Hole Information Loss Paradox and Collapse Models

Room: 204
Speaker: José Luis Gaona Reyes (PhD Student, University of Trieste)
In the first part of the talk, the basic notions of the black hole information loss paradox are presented, following [1]. Then, the proposal of S. K. Modak and D. Sudarsky [2] is described. In the latter, they consider the information loss problem in the context of collapse theories. In particular, working with the Russo-Susskind-Thorlacius (RST) model, and using the notion of a semi classical self-consistent configuration (SSC), they study how the state of the quantum matter field is affected by the modified quantum evolution prescribed by the dynamics involving spontaneous collapse of the wavefunction, through the Continuous-Spontaneous Collapse (CSL) theory.
