Optomeccanica quantistica (Quantum Optomechanics)

L’optomeccanica quantistica utilizza un campo elettromagnetico per misurare e controllare la dinamica della sua parte meccanica. Questo permette differenti applicazioni, come misure estremamente sensibili (vedi LIGO), il raffreddamento del sistema meccanico (ground state cooling), la preparazione di stati squeezed o entanglati.

Quantum optomechanics uses an electromagnetic field to measure and control the dynamics of its mechanical part. This enables various applications, such as extremely sensitive measurements (see LIGO), cooling of the mechanical system (ground state cooling), and the preparation of squeezed or entangled states.
