Abstract: 
The nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLS), which is the predominant equation in nonlinear phenomena in optics, is the result of Maxwell's equations. Different nonlinear effects are observed in a media due to high intensity electromagnetic signal. We will discuss the supercontinuum generation, as it is needed in many scientific and technological disciplines.
